In 1973, the 250 acre estate winery was established in Sonoma County with the belief that this land would evolve into one of California’s finest winegrape appellations. Personal involvement, pride and a tenacious commitment to quality are the roots of the Chateau St. Jean story. It is the only winery ever to have placed 5 wines in a single Wine Spectator Top 100 Rating.

Crisp and refreshing, this Fumé Blanc offers fragrant aromas of green tea, lemongrass and lemon meringue pie.  Flavors of grapefruit, spice and wet stone combine with lively acidity, creating a beautifully balanced wine with a lingering lemon zest finish.

CHATEAU ST. JEAN Merlot 2005 Sonoma County

 

“Aromas of sweet black cherry, black plum and toasted almonds burst from the glass of this Merlot. These bright fruit characters carry over onto the palate and mingle with notes of blackberry, dark chocolate and clove. A rich and full midpalate, with polished tannins, leads to a lush finish with cassis on the close.”

Youthful and inviting, this Pinot Noir is filled with pleasing aromas of cherry and plum as well as hints of cedar and leather. The palate offers jammy fruit flavors and fine tannins that give a creamy texture and a long fruit-driven finish.
